Cheeseburger Pizza

Cheeseburger pizza is a delicious combination of two comfort food favorites: cheeseburgers and pizza! It’s typically made with a pizza dough base, topped with a savory burger-inspired sauce (often ketchup or a mix of ketchup and mustard), ground beef, onions, pickles, cheese, and other cheeseburger toppings.

Here’s a simple recipe for making cheeseburger pizza at home:

Ingredients:

  • Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Pickles (sliced)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: Lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, or more cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. Cook the ground beef: In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add chopped onions and cook until they are soft. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Once cooked, remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Prepare the pizza base: Roll out your pizza dough on a floured surface into your desired size and thickness. Transfer it to a greased baking sheet or pizza stone.
  4. Add the sauce: Spread ketchup and mustard evenly over the pizza dough as the base sauce. You can mix the two together if you like or use them separately.
  5. Top the pizza: Layer the cooked beef and onions on top of the sauce. Sprinkle a generous amount of mozzarella cheese and cheddar cheese on top.
  6. Bake the pizza: Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
  7. Finish with pickles: After the pizza is out of the oven, top with sliced pickles (and other optional toppings, if desired).
  8. Serve and enjoy!
